Angry is the command emerge supposed to be working while installing gentoo?


i am trying to install gentoo, and i am stuck at the part where i have to emerge something. because it tells me that the command isn't found. but based on the manual this is what i have to do...HELP!!!

It does indeed work... inside the chroot environment. If you are getting that, likely you aren't within the chroot, or think you are because you've 'cd /mnt/gentoo' but aren't actually within the chroot because you didn't perform the chroot command.
