Question Is Redhat and Fedora the same thing?

My company has just changed from a AIX OS to LINUX Redhat. I am trying to get some reference books to help me learn and get me to a point of knowing what real questions to ask on here. If someone could help with this first question, it would get me rolling.

After RedHat 9, RedHat changed business strategies and created a commercial distro called RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) that is supposed to be very stable. They also supported Fedora Core, which is a free community-developed distro based on old RedHat that is constantly updated to new stuff (more cutting-edge but less stable) and serves as a testing-ground for RHEL.

Also note that because the packages which make up the commercial distro (RHEL) are open source some RHEL-rebuild projects have sprung up. These projects take the open source RHEL packages, remove any redhat logos (eg. from the installer), and rebuild them to make a distro that's almost identical to RHEL. These are a good way to get it for free (as in beer). See www.centos.org
