Is linux really that good. I have tried every version under the sun and can't get any to work!

I think its pants!

have you burned a distro onto a cd ????
(from iso, not drag and drop !)

have you gone into bios and set boot device as cd-rom ?

have u booted from the distro cd and installed ???

and yeah, linux rules.
apart from the stablilty, speed, and security, my fave feature is that if you dont like your graphical user interface, you can just install a new one.. there are litrally hundreds to choose from !

Linux is as good as you want it to be. Why not have a look around the forum for threads like "which is best" and the suchlike.

If you are having problems installing, create a thread detailling your problems and we'll see what we can do.

nah, 'pants' as in underwear.

it means, broadly, rubbish. As in, did you see that film last night? Yeah, I left after an hour 'cos it was pants!

Linux is good because it give chance to learn and explore.

Linux is good, just because it's good. With linux you don't have to deal with those annoying dll, or registries and so many hidden files that windows installs, it's more secure, you have many more choices. It just rocks
