is it possible to install Arch without burning image on a seperate partition?

I am a Linux Newbie and I installed Ubuntu Hardy and I made a 10 gigabyte partition to try to do the LFS, but after a while I realized that to do LFS is at this time beyond my understanding of how Linux works. so now I am wondering if it is possible to install Arch onto that partition without Burning the iso and installing from cd. what I mean is could I mount the image some how and then install it onto the ten gigabyte partition? and if so where do I find the instructions on how to do this or what is the proper qustion I need to ask to get the proper answer lol.
