irc hostname problem

im trying to connect with a irc client,(irssi)
but when i type:
/server Undernet or EFnet this displays this:
looking up a hostname
coudnt look up a hostname.

and after that a try to enter to a channel , i enter but there is not anybody , a type /me hello and is only me

what can a do?

Did you use literally /server EFnet?

You need to use a real server name, like /server

EFnet server list here, for example:

Man , i've done as you said and is continuing with the : could not look your hostname.
i think is beacause my connection, i'm connect through the usb port.
