I've a ipw2100. Which distribution are you using? I couldn't make my card work in Debian, for instance. The drivers loaded and the card was working (iwlist scan found my network), yet I wasn't able to connect. On the other hand I had no problems to make it work in Gentoo. I'm not saying you to change distribution, but the only difference I could found between these cases was the driver version. Gentoo downloaded the v0.56 (or 0.55, not sure), so maybe you can try an older version to see if it work with your distribution. All this is assuming that you have downloaded and installed the firmwares. Other things that are tricky with this card are that sometimes WEP is the problem. Are you using encryption? If that is the case, maybe you can try to deactivate it and check if the card is able to connect and get an IP, so you go step by step and can isolate the problems. Other thing is that you probably use DHCP, hence you need a DHCP client to ask an IP number to your router.
Please let us know a little more about what you have done so far. Good luck in the meanwhile...
