IPV6 Changes - How do they affect me?
Hi all,
Just wondering if IPV6 is something that I'll have to worry about with my home network, the internet and in general? Will I have to change anything or will it mostly just happen without me noticing? Maybe I'm using it already? I can easily remember my IPV4 addresses at home, will a day come when I'll have to assign new addresses? Thanks |
Here is a reasonable explanation.

Linux systems in the past two years ( at least ) have been shipping with IPv6 running. Home routers are another problem. If you are renting it from your ISP, I would think the ISP will upgrade them when necessary. If you own it, you will find some sites you can not get to, when they drop IPv4 support. |
