IPV4 Address

I upgraded from Fedora 13 to Fedora 14 on my lap top. On first boot up the program recognises that my laptop has both a wireless and a lan network card. It wont auto configure the lan card or the wireless card and asking that I configure the wireless car for an IPV4 address. What is Ivp4 and how do I configure it please?

Hi,

Take a look at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPv4

However, if you use DHCP, in most cases the IP adress will be configured using the routers DHCP server (private IP).
If you use a modem, you will receive the IP fom your provider (public IP)

Kind regards

You can get a lot using google search.

IPV4 - Internet Protocol Version 4

A unique IP is assigned to each system connected to Internet.

It depends on your Internet Service Provider, wheather you have configure your IP manually or it will automatically assigned an IP by your ISP(If dhcp).
