iptables firewall rules not surviving reboot

Hi Guys

I have a Compaq Deskpro running Red Hat 9.0.

I have used Fwbuilder to compile a set of rules, so that I can use this machine as a firewall. When I apply the rules "./rules.fw" the firewall works fine, I can get all outbound traffic.
I have set the rules to start on startup "/sbin/iptables-save > /etc/sysconfig/iptables" however when I reboot the machine, I get no outbound traffic.

It appears that routing is enabled, as even though I can not get on to the internet, I am able to ping through the firewall to the external IP.

If I restart iptables ...... nothing
If I manually apply the rules, works fine.
If I then restart iptables, works fine?

I have checked to see if the rules are loaded "iptables -L" and they are there after the reboot.

Not sure what's going on.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks in Advance
