Exclamation ipmasq error

I try running rc.ipmasq made with the instructions from: cableforum.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=9538
and I get the error:

Quote:
iptables v1.3.3: can't initialize iptables table `nat': Table does not exist (do you need to insmod?)
Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.

nat is supposed to be there if iptables is installed, right? I'd really like to get this working.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. It worked at first, but I had to reinstall the whole OS (Running Slackware with kernel 2.4.31 btw.) because of another thing I messed up with and after the reinstall the ipmasq didn't work anymore.

You may not have the nat module (nat is a separate element; having iptables installed doesn't mean you have it in your kernel). Look for ip_nat kernel module (/lib/modules/kernelversion/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter in my 2.6). You may simply try to load it:
modprobe ip_nat
It may work and simply load the right module.

Thank you for the fast reply, though I just got it working perfectly by recompiling the kernel. (Tried to get HyperThreading to work, which failed miserably.)
