ip cop setup
I am trying to set up an ipcop firewall on my network. My static IP is assigned to my gateway box. I have three network cards in the firewall computer. I think I want to set up GREEN/RED/ORANGE -- internal/internet/server, respectivly.
I have read the docs twice, but I am missing the obvious. How does this work -- Red card connects to gateway, green connects to browsers/workstaton network, orange to the server network? Is there a better, easier firewall setup? thank you |
well the easiest way is just with red and green, but it is completely dependent on what you want to get out of it. i used to just do port fowarding into a server on green for basic serving, you don't need an orange if you don't want one.

i use to have RED and GREEN
RED card connected to adsl modem via rj45 GREEN card connected to switches via rj45 if you wish to do ORANGE card connect it direct to the server which you want to set DMZ , otherwise this ORANGE not necessary if you want to do local webhosting just configure LAN static ip for that server in your LAN then , browse ip under port forwarding point port 80 to that machine , connect that machine to switches |
thanks, that was very helpful
