IP Conflict - In which log it will show?

Friends,

In our network we have windows pc and linux pc.
Somehow, one of the windows pc's ip address is conflicting with the linux pc.The windows pc is showing the "ip conflict" message but in linux pc i didnt get any message instead of that my ssh is keep on disconnecting. Somehow i found out and solved the issue.
Now, my question is, where this kind of ipconflict will be store in linux log file. i mean in which log file or which file.

Thanks
Sathyguy

I don't have one in my logs for grep to return but I'd expect to find it in one or more of /var/log/messages, /var/log/syslog or /var/log/secure.

I checked in both /var/log/messages and /var/log/secure
there is no such information for ipconflict.
and there is no file named /var/log/syslog in RHEL AS 3.0
now???

There's an old article at http://marc.merlins.org/linux/arppatch/ containing a patch which allows the system to detect duplicate IP addresses. I thought this was already a part of the kernel, but since the latest patch is for kernel 2.6.14 and is dated January, that might not be the case.
