IP Config

Does anyone know the Linux equivalent to the windows commands:

ipconfig /all
ipconfig /release
and ipconfig /renew ?

Thanks.

Hi Jamar

To see ip information:
ifconfig

To shut down interface (and release ip):
ifconfig eth0 down

To bring interface up again:
ifconfig eth0 up

Edit: Sorry, make that /sbin/ifconfig

Regards
Martin

ifconfig
net-setup (eth0) should suffice

There are also if-up and if-down (which is what you want) in RH i think. but i do not remember right now.
