ioctl: LOOP_CLR_FD: No such device or address

# losetup -d /dev/loop0
ioctl: LOOP_CLR_FD: No such device or address

The loop module seems to be loaded.

# lsmod | grep loop
loop 48849 0
netloop 40129 0

I am using kernel 2.6.18-53 (Centos)

Any idea why the loop device is failing?

Thanks in advance.
