Internet problem on SuSE
Hello everybody,
First of all, thanks a lot for helping me. I have just installed SuSE 9.0 on my computer. Everything is allright but I have a problem with internet. Suse doesn't detect it. I have 4 computers at home. 3 of them (just to work with them) are connected in a LAN (with Windows NT). My computer (personal use) uses their adsl. It's connected to the "hardware box" that keeps the other interconected. But my computer is not a part of the LAN. Sorry for not knowing how to explain it better. How can I configure Suse to detect internet? Ask me every doubt that you have. Thanks |
hi,
i'm assuming that the hardware box you talk of is a router? how is this connected to your suse machine - ie, which interface; eg usb or ethernet card, or whatever? |
Thanks
Thanks a lot Kevinatkins,
I'm really lost with linux right now. LOL, yes the "hardware box" is the router. The LAN has a router and an adsl modem. My computer has a ethernet card connected by some kind of fil (it's not a usb connection) to the router. I hope you understand what I mean. |
Please help meeeeeee
