Hello,

Can I ask why you would want to install Internet Explorer in linux in the first place? Internet Explorer was made for Windows, not for linux. But if you must, you could use wine like you mentioned, or you could run VirtualBox and emulate windows within Linux.

Well other browsers such as firefox do the exact same thing as IE, if not better. If anything, you could use the Default User Agent add-on in firefox and change the user agent to IE if need be.

As far as your other question, you should create a separate thread for that.

Get on google and search for firefox add-ons, go to the firefox website, and search for the user agent add-on. It's really not that hard

First, use the quote feature to quote posts.

Second, you could find an answer to that question in under a minute by using a Web search engine like Google.

Did you try using a native Linux browser like Firefox?

If Firefox works, why on earth would you want IE?

If you don't like Firefox, check out more Linux browsers: Chromium/Google Chrome, Konqueror, Midori, Opera (not open-source) and many more.

If you really insist to use IE 7 on Linux...

-get wine

-get winetricks

You might be able to install IE 7 from winetricks. IE 6 for sure, you can get from this.
