Internet doesnt work on Firefox or Opera on Fedora core 9, N/w connectivity works

Hi
I am new to Linux and have Fedore core 9, I can browse most of the times on Firefox and Opera browser, However sometimes it doesnt work. On pinging to other systems or accessing this PC from my XP it works only internet doesnt work, I have to restart my box explicitly and then only it works again. Tried changing the preference in Connection settings, the proxy configuration is all correct, tried What should I do so that I dont have to restart my box again for fixing this problem. ifconfig down and up also wont solve the problem.

Do you mean systems on your LAN or internet sites. Also, how do you connect to the internet? Do you have a separate router+modem, does one computer act as router, etc... Without knowing this its hard to narrow down where the problem lies...

Thanks for ur interest. The problem is solved now as I reinstalled fedora.
