Internet detection by newly installed linux os
 
I have newly installed fedora-6 using gnome desktop, my system has Internet connection but mozilla fire fox has not detecting the Internet.
help me how to proceed, what modifications should I take to work with Internet in linux platform

are you sure you are connected to the internet, because if you are firefox should work out of the box without modification.

welcome to LQ!

First, please describe how you connect to the internet. eg Do you have a cable modem, DSL, dial-up.? Does the connection use static IP or DHCP? Do you have a router?
Wireless or wired?
Provide as much detail as you can.

Fedora 6 is now pretty old, but there should be no issue getting a basic connection. Have you looked at the network section in the settings?
