Internet connection slowdown
I connected my Linux computer before with a LAN connection to my Windows computer and used the internet connection sharing to connect to the internet. This worked fine, but I wanted a bit more. Therefore I bought an ADSL modem/router I can connect my two computers on this router.
The Windows computer internet connection is still as fast as before, the problem is that my Linux computer is slow to connect to a website.
In more detail it looks like the Linux computer needs more time to resolve the domain name.
Router D-Link DSL-500G with a D-Link DES-1005D 5 port 10/100 Switch,
Linux computer SMC 1255TX (10/100 network card) installed with Fedora Core 2 Tulip driver,
Running Fedora core 2 with all updates installed.
I looked at “Kernel Tuning” but have no idea what to change to make it work faster…..
Hope somebody can have some ideas.
With kind regards,
