internet connection sharing


i have linux mint 6 and i used to run my laptob through my xbox 360 when i had xp but now i dont know how to share my connection can someone help me?

Hi,

welcome to LQ!

How are the machines connected? Is the xbox handing out dhcp leases,
did you use static IPs with XP?

they were connected through ethernet. and idk

No idea what idk is/does ... how did XP acquire its IP address?

i guess it shared the ip address or acquired it automatic

In that case tell your Linux to use dhcp, and see what that does.
