Internet Connection Problem
 
I am having trouble connecting to my ISP after installing Mandrake 8.0. I contacted my ISP but they were unable to help. The modem US Robotic Sportster external serial port will dial out then I get an exit 10 when the pppd tries to connect to the isp. The msg I get is LCP: timeout sending config-request and the connection will terminate.

IS it a pppd timeout?? Make sure that you have the correct settings (either PAP or CHAP) and that pppd timeout is set to 60s

It is a pppd timeout, the settings are pap and the timeout is set as high as it will allow 60s. When I talked to earthlink we made sure all the settings were correct. They suggested using logon scripts but I didn't find any examples of what to set the scripts to.
