Hi,
i am using ubuntu 8.04.
I downloaded flv from youtube which on playing in totem gives "internal data stream error"
I have installed gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg,gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly,gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly.
I tried with ffplay(Note:I have medibuntu ffmpeg) it says "[flv @ 0xb7f3a110]Unsupported video codec (7)".
what do you suggest ?
Please don't tell me to transcode to other format or install other player like vlc, mplayer etc.
I hope totem (being media player from GNOME) should have solution.

If you only want people to tell you what you want to hear, why bother asking a question?
FLV's play fine with vlc, mplayer, etc. If you want to use Totem, convert it, or use another player. And a quick Google search indicates the latest version of Ubuntu/totem, plays FLV's just fine.
I thought that there should be solution for totem I am not aware of.
No intention to offend others.
I installed ubuntu-restricted-extras but invain.
Can you suggest anything else or point me to a relevant link ?

Can you re-read my other post? The part where I say the latest version of Ubuntu supports FLV's through Totem??
Upgrade to the latest version of Ubuntu, convert the file, or use another player.
In this thread I was loooking to play latest video from you-tube . Everyone said upgrade from ubuntu 8.04 or get latest video player (by compiling tarball. Actually even from repositories of medibuntu you don't get latest mplayer or ffplay).
Finally I played that video in firefox like it is being streamed (though computer is networkless).
with html file, abc.flv (OR you can edit link to flv) ,abc.swf(http://www.walkernews.net/mediaplayer.swf) & abc.jpg(if you want thumbnail) in same folder.Still it is something.
To add more
You can make symbolic link abc.flv which will allow you to play different videos just by running
Code:
ln -s Destination_video abc.flv
My question is full screen button in JW media player 3.13 does not work though audio & pause work as desired?.

Another question
I got the swf file youtube uses via http://s.ytimg.com/yt/swf/watch-vfl172190.swf
What I liked about it is you can navigate to any second of video unlike the above I have mentioned in which right , left arrow moves 15 seconds.Rest you have to guess.
Now the question is what should be modification in html file because merely changing swf link does not play the video ONLY brings up nice interface?
