first fedora 10 is no longer supported
the current is fedora 15 , you are 5 versions out of date

if this is an old windows XP computer fedora 15 might not install if there is too little RAM
Fedora 15 REQUIRES a minimal of 640 meg and 2 gig is recommended

please explain?
there never was a desktop icon to " start the internet"
nor was there ever a desktop icon to configure your internet connection

there IS a firefox 2( maybe 3) icon on the DEAD fedora 10

is KDE or Gnome used as your default desktop?
Gnome is the standard for that
the normal way was ( from memory - because fedora-10 is UNSUPPORTED)
system / administration/ network connections
