Intel X4500HD on Ubuntu 9.04

I'm a new Ubuntu 9.04 user and I'm having some issues with my Intel x4500HD Graphics Card. Everytime that the monitor screen is about to turn off some random lines appear on the screen, and the video streaming quality is not really good. Could someone tell me what's happening? It's a driver problem?

The lines before it turns off is probably not a problem.

If you're having a performance problem, make sure you have installed all the available updates for Ubuntu. There were some problems with the Intel video drivers earlier this year. I'm not sure if they were fixed in 9.04, but they should be in 9.10, so you might want to upgrade to 9.10 when it is released in 11 days. You could also try enabling the backports and proposed repositories and applying all the resulting upgrades.

I had a similar problem with an Intel X3100 and Ubuntu 9.04 and after 2 installations I found that when I added
language updates (I use English and Greek) the problem reappeared. So on the next installation I omitted all
language updates except the 2 languages I use, and I had no more picture and video problems.
hope it helps.

Well, thanks, I'll try it, if it doesnt work guess I'll wait for the 9.10.

I've updated to the new Ubuntu 9.10 and it seems that the problem's gone. Thanks everyone for helping.
