Integrate system clock with ns2..?

Is it possible to integrate system clock to ns2? If yes, please share it with me.

Thanks in advance.

I have never used ns2. In previous years I took a course in writing network simulators and as part of a job I have measured the time for real time events to be used in a network simulator. In my experience network simulators keep a virtual clock. The amount of CPU time used to simulate a time period on the network usually exceeds the real time that the events being simulated would use. Thus I would be surprised if a network simulator could use the real clock instead of a virtual clock. If a network simulator used a real time clock it probably could not keep up with the events that it is simulating and would not be able to keep up with real time.
