Installing Xine

Thanks for your interest. Here's my problem.

When i try to run the xine rpm.. I get errors as stated below.

(nstallation failed:
file /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.0.0/post/xineplug_post_goom.so from install of libxine1-1_cvs-031213 conflicts with file from package xine-plugins-1-0.rc0.7mdk
file /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.0.0/post/xineplug_post_mosaico.so from install of libxine1-1_cvs-031213 conflicts with file from package xine-plugins-1-0.rc0.7mdk
file /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.0.0/post/xineplug_post_planar.so from install of libxine1-1_cvs-031213 conflicts with file from package xine-plugins-1-0.rc0.7mdk
file /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.0.0/post/xineplug_post_switch.so from install of libxine1-1_cvs-031213 conflicts with file from package xine-plugins-1-0.rc0.7mdk
file /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.0.0/post/xineplug_post_tvtime.so from install of libxine1-1_cvs-031213 conflicts with file from package xine-plugins-1-0.rc0.7mdk
file /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.0.0/post/xineplug_post_visualizations.so from install of libxine1-1_cvs-031213 conflicts with file from package xine-plugins-1-0.rc0.7mdk)

it goes on for like 20 more lines.. If i understand this correctly, i must have an previous version of xine installed, and this cannot over ride the previous version, or upgrade it... correct?.. I am using mandrake 9.2 and haven't installed xine before.. any direction would be apprecated..

TIA!

type rpm -qa|grep -i xine
you should see all things that are for xine that are installed...
just judging by the package that it is saying it is conflicting with you could probably remove it by typing:
rpm -e xine-plugins
and then try the package you are trying to install..
