installing with extra windows space

Hiya, trying to install FC3 over broken MDK 10.1, this is on an 80gb hdd, windows xp home is on another 40gb. The reason mandrake is borken is cuase the disk wasnt burned propely, but i like FD3 better anyway. I want to give windows 20bg out of the 80gb hdd, so each os has 60gb of space. However, I'm not entirely sure how to pull it off. I'm thinking to just make a /mnt/windows partition, but I'm not sure if that will add it to C:\ and format it or something. Any help? ASAP would be best, I want to get it installed and working by tonight.

(Also, when installing MDK10.1 there weren't any boot to xp problems, works fine for me.)
