installing wireless network card

i have a netgear wireless router with linnux support but the ma 311 pci wireless network card i have has no linnux support. I've tried searching the net and i know its possible to install this card. I am using redhat 9 and this is my final hurdle before being able to use linnux over windows. This website is quite helpful

http://www.proph.co.uk/steve/computers/pc4/#kernel

as is this one

http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/

but im not yet proficient to understand how to compile and find my way round the shell yet.

Basically im looking for
- a good internet resource which can take me through shell commands from a beginners perspective so i can understand the operations neccessary to install the card or a simplified view of what has to be done ?

thanks
