installing windows and Linux in separate hard disk


Hai,
I need to install windows xp and linux in separate hard disk on my computer.Is it possible?

please provide me the solutions.......


Note:Not in same harddisk

Yes. That's what I do.

Windows is insatlled on the first disk - Linux refers to this as sda. I installed Ubuntu Linux on the second disk - Linux refers to this as sdb.

Ubuntu will make it's own partitions and format them as part of the install. The boot will normally be installed to the MBR (Master Boot Record) of the first, Windows disk.

Not difficult...

Yes, you can load on separate disks. You should load Xp first on the first drive then load your Linux. I suggest that you create a separate '/home' partition for Linux. That way whenever you decide to upgrade or change then the '/home' will be safe as long as no format is done on it. Make sure to allocate enough space for growth.
