Installing VLC
Hi
I am new to Linux, I used it 20 years ago and have forgot all I ever new. I have installed Fedora 22 and is working fine (I think). I have tried to install VLC Media Player using the command: sudo dnf install vlc and I get the following: Np package available Error: unable to find a match. I am using some instructions I downloaded from the intetnet "Things to do after installing Fedora. I am at a loss of what to do. NEED SOME HELP. Thanks Ed |
Since Fedora uses Red Hat's package manager, would the command not be something like # yum-install vlc?

Hi econnelly...
Welcome to the forum :) This has been a tough one for other Fedora 22 users, too. However, the solution listed in post #24 here seems to have resolved this for others. :) Regards... |
as above rpmfusion is NOW the main repo in fedora ( and HAS BEEN )
NOW Fedora 22 moved to using " dnf" and stopped using " yum" ,but that is a small change even the old Mjmwired guide for Fedora 19 lists RPMFusion this has not changed for the lase few years just using dnf has http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/ and install the Fedora 22 repo "rpmfusion-free-release-22.noarch.rpm" |
Welcome aboard.
