Running Libranet 2.8.1 / KDE 3.1.3
Plugged in my USB Key into the laptop and being the Windows drone that I am...I expected Linux to detect the drive and mount it for me. However, nothing happened.
Luckily I found this article and managed to install the USB drive. http://www.extremetech.com/article2/...1256766,00.asp
Now, I'm sure I'm missing something here. There must have been an easier way to do this. There's a program called KwikDisk (Removable Media Utility) but it doesn't allow you to add a drive or detect the drive.
This is hardly end user friendly. Is it because of my distro? Should I switch to Red Hat or Mandrake? Is there a setting/configuration and if so why isn't it defaulted to "I'm an idiot and want to do things the easy way...please waste my resources but make the OS user friendly"
