installing ubuntu on imac g3 with 2 partions

ok my question here is, i'm installing the new version of ubuntu on a imac g3 with a 80gb with two partion one 8gb that has mac os x and a 68gb for linux.
now i have my disc here and i'm wondering if i need any boot loader or what not or do i just stick the disk in and install it on the partion.

oh 1 more thing both partions use hfs+
