Installing Ubuntu Linux on chrome box

Hi,

I'm a newbie to Linux. Just starting out.

I'm trying to get a desktop and install Ubuntu on it.
I would like to know if it would be better to buy Dell Inspiron (regular desktop) or the chrome box?

Also, I would like to know is it a good idea to have dual boot system or a VM install?

If there are already links to my questions, could you please point me to those pointers/links?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks!

I'd opt for a regular desktop for Ubuntu. Chromebox/book is a bit to underpowered for a lot of tasks.
As for dual boot/VM, what do you want to dual boot/VM Ubuntu with?
