What to do?

1) Don't title your threads "urgent". It's not urgent for us, and it doesn't give us any idea what the thread is about, so many of the regulars will simply ignore it.

2) Give more details. What you did exactly, what errors you got, what you've tried already...anything you think might be related to diagnosing the problem.

Read the link just below this line for more on posting properly.

Welcome to LQ, but I am sorry to have to tell you that this is NOT urgent. I have fixed your title.

It's not clear exactly what you did, but here is what you SHOULD have done:
1. Burn a CD from the iso file using the "burn from iso" or "burn from image" option in your CD burner.

2. Put the CD in the drive and then re-boot the computer. (If necessary, change the BIOS settings to allow booting from CD)

3. After booting the CD, it should come up in the "Live CD" mode. From here, you can either run Linux for evaluation, or you can proceed to install it on the hard driver.

Please confirm exactly what steps you take and--if it is still not working--tell us what happens.

I have no clue what that means.
I assume that is something different from the common method of installing Linux from a CD.
I assume you followed some online instructions.
Post the URL of the online instructions you followed.

I don't even know what that means.

but after booting
Even that is less informative than you think. How much after booting? Do you recognize BIOS screens? The Grub or isolinux Menu? Linux startup? Splash screen? etc.? Which of those went by before failure.

I don't think I need to have any clue what you mean my "linning". You are looking at some failure to display graphics mode. That is moderately common in Linux installs, indicating the automatic selection of a graphics driver has selected or configured one that isn't compatible with your display card.

From there CTRL-ALT-F1 might get you to text mode Linux, which might be useful for diagnosing or correcting the problem, or at least the fact of whether you can get to text mode that way would narrow down some of the possibilities.

Edit: At the moment I'm chasing a similar problem myself. See my thread at
