Question installing suse, grub error 17

hi all
I use my suse recovery disk, everything install normaly and than it says remove cd disk and press a to reboot, Appear suse's green background but it don't do anything.
when i try again shows up GRUB 1.5 Loading GRUB Error 17
I try to restore grub using ubuntu bootable usb using sudo grub command in terminal but it's says command not found. try some other commands who found in google writing grub error 17 but the same answer command not found, I was using ubuntu 11.04. ohh and windows instals and boot normally without any problem.

Im a bit desperate, nothing what I try worked.

some very important information is required that is not provided
what version of suse ? SELD 11 ( not free ), or openSUSE 11.4 or 11.3 ( free)

some guessing here
1)duel boot with windows 7
2) win7 has a "recovery" partition on sda1
3) you installed grub on top of the win7 recovery partition -- not good if you did.
4) a good bet
You reinstalled win 7 AFTER suse and overwrote the MBR

reinstall grub -- i am betting on that it is #4
