installing SUSE from ftp/http

i'm trying to install SUSE from an ftp or http from the boot cd available on the various mirrors.
the problem is it seems all the North American ftp's are either full or very slow. there are however a few fast http... so i choose to install from http from the menu and it says to enter the ip address of the http server, and being that most of them have a prefix rather than www they have suse, or something else. so when it asks to point to the directory after you've entered the ip address, it's pointing to http://blehbleh.edu/suse/ instead of let's say http://suse.blehbleh.edu/suse/ because it only allows you to enter the ip address and not the domain ... sorry if this is hard to understand, i don't know much of the technical jargin. any ideas how to make it work?

Suppose the IP of your intended mirror is 123.234.45.56. Let's say you're using it, can't you set the boot process to use http://123.234.45.56/pub/suse ?
Or I didn't understand your problem?

PennyroyalFrog,
from what I understand, your understanding of an IP-address is not entirely correct.
an IP address is a combination of numbers (e.g.:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx). What the setup wants you to do is put in these numbers. As bruno buys suggested, what you would put there looks something like this: http://195.135.221.132/pub/suse (this is the official suse linux ftp server. Located in Germany, IIRC).

Hope this clears it up,
