When you know how, installing software is easier, than you can imagine.

You will have to use the "Package Manager" to choose a package.
Or the command line "Search" :
Suse : # zypper se <name>
Mandriva : # urpmq --fuzzy <name>
(K)Ubuntu : sudo apt-cache search <name>

But please tell, which of the Linux, you mentioned
in your other thread, you actually got installed !

suze 11.3

Think twice before you install or upgrade to the latest release of anything, bugs may well follow and fixing them is not always straightforward.

Hi,

I will add to what 'Fred Caro' stated. If you do upgrade or install the newest and things do break then you may not be able to revert let alone repair unless you understand the system fully.
