installing software with wine/crossover: It doesn't "understand" the path
Hi I'm Trying to install Counter Strike through wine (same problem under crossover).
When it's time change to CD2, the installer just beeps and does not continue with installation. I can try again but from time to time I get a "Invalid directory name specified or the removable media is not properly inserted." Code:
ls /media/cdrom0/ Code:
ls ~/.wine/dosdevices/d: Code:
$ mount Code:
/dev/hdd on /media/cdrom0 type iso9660 (ro,noexec,nosuid,nodev,user=manos) paths like Code:
/home/manos/.wine/dosdevices/d: Code:
/media/cdrom0/ Help please!!! |
This isn't an answer, but a suggestion on where to post for help on this problem.
Have you posted this problem on the Codeweaver's and Wine web sites? Since they are focused solely on that product you will likely have more people experienced with those programs and yours that could help. Not that you won't find help here, but I think you'll get more and get it faster on those web sites. I use Crossover, gave up on Wine since it wasn't compatible with my laptop and Ubuntu Dapper, and have had success with several Windows programs, and some failures as well. If your program is supported by Crossover for Linux, you should be able to find some help in the forum for that program. |
