Installing software and drivers in mandrake 10
 
hey
i recently installed mandrake 10 . i seeem to like it xcept for thesoftware installation part. isearched every forum for getting info on installing draivers and softeares but got no satisfactory answer . they dont have complete discription on installing various formats does any1 have any web links or any way by which i can learn installing stuff and i dont have any clue on as to what commands to use(ah crap)
and whre to fill them coz i dont get enuf answers
plz help a newbie. post anything( links or explanations)

hi liljhand, welcome to lq. mandrake is based on redhat, thus it uses the rpm install method. have a look at this about installing rpm's

when searching for rpm's you'll probably find mandrake specific packages at most any rpm site. have a look here for rpm's
