installing Skype on 9.04


I have downloaded Skype as advised the old version for 8.04 but I am using Ubuntu 9.04. I successfully downloaded it and installed it with GDebi Package manager all went well .I tried to open it from Applications internet and it just says Binary file corrupted please reinstall I did this still the same . I have downloaded it again and still the same problem I have tried tu uninstall Skype from Add/remove but it isnt there Any ideas please keep it simple Its my first Linux

Try getting it from here: http://linuxappfinder.com/package/skype

Thanks for the advice I tried getting skype from there I clicked on INSTALL NOW it just says skpe already installed I think I may have to uninstall it and start again but it isnt showwing up in add remove

Ok I found Synaptic and removed Skype from there . Ok things look good went back to you're Skype page clicked on install and it says Skype is VIRTUAL Ok now I am totally confused doesn't take much sorry jajajaj
