Installing Sawfish

I want to change my WM from TWM to Sawfish. When I start Mozilla my Cable modem feels like a 14k. I'm not sure that the problem is the computer but when I was running Win98 it was going at 500 kb/s with only 45megs of space on the hard disk. This makes the problem five hundred times worse as I cannot go online and download Sawfish on the machine that is running Linux. I also think I installed KDE but I cant find it anywhere. I know this question is really noob. I know some UNIX and Linux. Please help.
