installing rpm's
So I try installing rpm's and three thing's always seam to happen.
Either it installs, which is great :D or it opens then closes right up or lastly it open gets to the discrepancies and it finds some but I install or at-least try to install the libs or what not it need and it still wont work. Is there something wrong with my system, I hope I don't have to reinstall it. Hopefully its something that I can solve. Thanks, apoc |
1. thats good
2. maybe you downloaded the .src.rpm, and not the binary 3. you need to sort out the dependencies SOLUTION TO ALL: use "apt". search on these forums about it. you'll find enough writeup. |

Do you want even easier?
Synaptic (previously known as raptor) is yet-another-GUI-frontend for APT. But the major difference from other frontends is that Synaptic is meant to be easy to use. http://www.nongnu.org/synaptic/ :) |
