Installing redhat linux 5 on a new hard disk

Hi,

My name is Kamal, new to linux.

I have computer on which windows 7 is already installed, and now i got a new SATA hard disk and want to install a dedicated copy of linux in that. Also i got ISO image in my local hard disk 'D: drive'.

I am doing this installation with the help of bootable pendrive. I see the below information in the screen.

/dev/hda1
/dev/hda2
/dev/hda3
/dev/hda4
/dev/sda1

directory hodlding images:_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Please help me which one should i select, and where should i keep my ISO image file to go further.

Thank you
Kamal

a few things
1) Why ? Why rhel5 ?
it is starting to show it's age
it is on it's very LAST minor upgrade RHEL 5.10
think windows xp sp3
-- it is getting a bit old

The current is RHEL 6.5

then

you MUST !!!!
( no if's and's or but's )
you must buy the required support contract to install software

redhat really is not free
The standard 1 year license is $299 per year

or

install the free clone CentOS 6.5

2)
second
why redhat ????

it makes for a very hard to use desktop os
( great on a server ) but not good as a "general purpose home computer"

redhat DOSE NOT !!! support the software for playing music and watching videos
so "out of the box"
NO mp3 support
NO youtube videos
NO games ( well a few default ones like " harts " and "minesweeper"

you have to use third party repos for multimedia support
and in rhel5 it is VERY VERY VERY EASY !!! to FUBAR -- kill-- your install trying to get video and music to play
this is ? mostly ? fixed with RHEL 6.5
but you can still FUBAR a install trying to install vlc2
