installing programs


im installing programs i thank but when they install i have no idea where the programs are

they will be installed to a location on your path, just run them and lo they should appear

e.g. for Gaim, type "gaim" into a run box or console window

thanks also is there a good p2p program out there like kazaa or something to that effect

gtk-gnutella is great !!!!

http://gtk-gnutella.sourceforge.net is the home page
download rpm's from there, or just

'yum install gtk-gnutella'
in command line.

whereis <program name>
or:
locate <program name>

that only find the main binary !

bigger programs like quake
woud put its binary in the path somwhere, and ifs data in other places.

anyway, providing you install by rpm, it doesnt matter where the program goes.
