Unhappy Installing OpenOffice in MEPISLite

I've downloaded OpenOffice for MEPISLite with the intention of burning it to CD then installing it on a PC with only dial-up internet access. I've tried under Synaptic but it says the CD is not APT enabled. Under KPackage it only seems to allow the installation of one file at a time and there's 72 files. I have the same problem with right clicking on each file and clicking manage package then install.

Tried dpkg -i *.deb in a terminal which appeared to work (OpenOffice appears in the K Menu) but produced lots of error messages about certain files not be correctly configured. When I tried to run OpenOffice there was "launch feedback" but then it did not appear on my screen.
