Installing Non-pup apps in Puppy 4.1.2??

Morning everyone. I am trying to install "Writer's World Maker"
http://www.wwmkr.com/
into PupFlux412-a puplet I like that I have successfully installed on my Toshiba 7000CT laptop.
Puppy is Slackware-based-is that right??
I downloaded the source files but have no idea how to compile them or install them!?
It also requires Gambas
http://gambas.sourceforge.net/
to run-so can anyone tell me how I can put this altogether for my puplet?
I also have the PupFlux412 on my 4GB USB-so I can test the install from there.
Also-I am running Ubuntu 8.10 right now on desktop pc and both Gambas and WWMKR(writers-world-maker) run fine-so my Desktop pc must have all necessary libs installed-Is there a way to install all necessary things into puppy from my desktop pc?
Thanks for any help provided-and oh yeah-I don't really know how to compile a package-this will be my first attempt!

Do a search on this LQ site and you will get a zillion threads that answer your question. Basically it's 5 steps.
1 DL the tarball (you've done that I guess)
2. Untar it
3. configure
4. make
5. make install

Read the threads and you'll get all the help you need to do these 5 incredibly easy steps.

I'm not sure if Puppy comes with a C compiler as standard but you can always install one if you don't have one using Puppy's PET.

cheers,
jdk

Doesn't work with puppy w/o jumping thru a bunch of flaming things

Getting gcc on puppy to work is a bitch from hell.

Try to find a package of the app in question.
There is (used to be?) the possibility to install .deb packages from Debian - of course never worked for me.

There are puppy versions based on slack and versions based on t2.

I guess size does matter, at least sometimes.
Useful information to learn about Puppy at any rate.

Did it once and after it's installed your troubles only started...

To OP you'll need to install something thats called devfx.pup (or something like that) and AFTER that you'll run into all kinds of needed libs that are not there and nowhere to be had.

Check with google about compiling and puppy (don't hold your breath most hits don't lead anywhere).
Unfortunately I don't have the url's anymore.
