Installing Netscape

I am trying to install Netscape and I get all the way to where the Netscape installer takes over and it ask me which directory to install it to. I left it like it was and tried to let it create the directory, and it will not create it. This is my first install with linux, how do you select a directory to put it in.

I installed netscape myself recently. I logged into my computer as the 'root' user, then downloaded and ran the installer program from the root directory and let the software go wherever it was supposed to go.

To run it after the first time, I found the program was in a subdirectory called netscape in the /usr/local directory

I think the key word(s) there is "as root".
