Installing MySQL on Fedora 13

Hello people,
I am new to linux and I want to install mysql on my system. I have downloaded rpm from mysql website.
I fired rpm -ivh MySQL-server-5.5.15-1.linux2.6.i386.rpm. The result was
error: Failed dependencies:
MySQL conflicts with (installed) mysql-5.1.56-1.fc13.i686
MySQL-server conflicts with (installed) mysql-server 5.1.56-1.fc13.i686
Then I tried with this command rpm -Uvh --test MySQL-server-5.5.15-1.linux2.6.i386.rpm. The result which I got was
error: Failed dependencies:
mysql(x86-32) = 5.1.56-1.fc13 is needed by (installed) mysql-devel-5.1.56-1.fc13.i686
So please help me to find the dependencies or suggest me some other way to install mysql-server on my system. Or how to install it with the help of yum?

Thank you,
Rohit.

one big problem
Fedora 13 is past it's end of life
There is and NEVER will be any support for it .

please install the current Fedora 15 , then in 4 months fedora 16
Quote:
rpm -ivh MySQL-server-5.5.15-1.linux2.6.i386.rpm
also you DO NOT use rpm to install software in fedora .
you use "yum "
also seeing as fedora 13 is DEAD
there is no new version of mysql .

install fedora 15
( mysql,apache,php,... ) are ON the install dvd
http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora
and READ the documentation
and the user guide
http://docs.fedoraproject.org
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/index.html

What John VV said. Plus, for when you are done upgrading.
Code:
sudo yum -y install mysql
will automatically download, install, and handle any dependencies for you.

if sudo is set up - fedora uses su and not sudo by default
and DO NOT EVER use the "-y " option in yum UNLESS YOU DO KNOW with 100% CERTAINTY EXACTLY WHAT it will do !!!
that is the fastest way to FUBAR an install

Those packages are considered examples. (For the future: Nobody uses 5.5.15 yet.)
And there are no or few extensions available.
Also : You already have a stable version installed : 5.1.56.

'rpm -ivh' is an "exception command", used if you want 2 libraries with
the same name installed at the same time. Or if you are absolutely sure,
that no package with <name> is installed.
The install command used by yum, etc. is 'rpm -Uvh'.

Yes you DO! Fedora is .rpm distro just like Suse or Mandriva. yum is just terminal command to install stuff.
