Installing Mplayer On Usb Key:

INSTALLING MPLAYER ON USB KEY:
-I am on MANDRAKE Move. Do these tools help install mplayer on a usb key?

rpm-4.2-2.1..mdk
rpmtools-4.5-13mdk
rpmdrake-2.1-35mdk
rpmhelper-0.9.1-1mdk

- Is the easy way to deal with binary files?

- I get the message (or something like that): '-->/usr/bin/ do not use more than 1 parameter!!'

- I entered the command:
<actual work dir $>./configure --with-reallibdir /my/RMcodecDir --with-codecsdir=/my/codecsDir

- the ./configure help doc says:
'-->./configure --prefix=/mnt/pathTo/cd-rom/usr/sbin/'

what stands for '--prefix' ??
normally you enter something like '--bindir=..' for binaryDir, or '--manDir=..' for manual Dir..

[/SNIP]

Don't know about the rest but:

--prefix is a more global parameter.

if you set --prefix=/somewhere

this should result in the same behaviour as doing a:

--bin-dir=/somewhere/bin
--man-dir=/somewhere/man
--lib-dir=/somewhere/lib

and so forth,
(Who would have thought it would be like this?)
