It`s saying the package mplayer 1.0pre2 is a prerequisite for (dependent upon) installing mplayer-common. In other words you gotta find the rpm mplayer 1.0pre2 and install that first then install mplayer-common___.rpm
Oh yeah, PS. Make sure you are trying to install the same version of mplayer and mplayer-common in this case 1.0pre2. Even if you already installed the mplayer rpm it may not work if your trying to install 2 different versions.
I know I got tierd of the Redhat based dependency hell too, that`s why I`m in the process of switching over to Debian based.
